Overview The LEE is the first truly sustainable affordable housing project in New York City. It houses 264 residences and includes on-site community services such as a gym, computer room, laundry, roof landscaped garden. The project was supported by the NY State Homeless Housing and Assistance Corporation and by The NY City Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

Challenge The project focused on sustainability from an environmental and in particular a social perspective.

Solutions In the pursuing of LEED GOLD certification we paid special attention to materials (both indoor and outdoor), energy and renewables, daylighting, and water consumption.
