Energy Assessment of a Large Commercial Printing Facility
Altanova performed an energy efficiency and retro-commissioning assessment of the printing facility for New York’s second-largest newspaper company.
Approach
Altanova performed benchmarking and utility analysis to identify areas of improvement. Next, a comprehensive energy audit was performed to identify retro-commissioning and energy efficiency measures. Finally, an energy model was created to estimate anticipated energy and cost savings.
Altanova also identified products and vendors to implement the solutions and inspections to ensure implementation quality.
Results
Based on our analysis, we recommended a list of eight Energy Efficiency Measures and thirteen Retro-commissioning measures for the facility to implement that would significantly reduce their utility cost and carbon footprint.
Key Results
More than $1.5 million of annual energy savings identified
More than 50% reduction in annual utility costs
Operational improvements identified to reduce burden on maintenance staff
